West Cheshire Neighborhood

West Cheshire Neighborhood

The West Cheshire neighborhoods have one of the oldest settlements in town; Moss Farms. The Moss family moved into the area in 1694 to farm 100 acres. This sloping terrain is now home to many family style homes on lovely tree-lined streets with full sidewalks, but the wide-open view of the fields of farmland remains in the midst. This highly sought after area of Cheshire, CT, can often be seen with it's residents taking in an evening stroll, jogging in a nearby park, or neighborhood kids playing games in one of the many cul-de-sacs.

The Mixville neighborhood grew up around the Mix Manufacturing Company, and the Ball and Socket Factory in West Main. Both of these were once the largest employer's of Cheshire, CT. Despite the history of industry, the area has maintained a rural atmosphere that has recently expanded to include many beautiful residential neighborhoods of single-family, 3-4 bedroom homes with a Median Home Sales Price of $302,836. and some small apartment complexes with an average Rental Price of $1,874.

Additionally, West Main is seeing a revitalization as the Cheshire Linear Trail begins its expansion through the neighborhood on to Southington, CT and the Cheshire Ball & Socket Factory has been turned into a cultural Arts Center. Again, making this area even more desirable to the younger families looking for space, but great access to work locales.

One of Cheshire's new premier neighborhood's, Meadowview Estates, is also part of the West Cheshire neighborhood. This beautiful development features 2+ acre premium Lots in a sidewalk and cul-de-sac community with a terrific location close to shopping, restaurants and entertainment.

This area of Cheshire is also home to one of Cheshire's oldest and largest parks & recreation facilities as well...Mixville Recreation Area.  Mixville Recreation Area has been a relaxation & gathering spot for the residents of Cheshire way before the town purchased the property, back when it was still called by it's original name;  Murphey's Pond.  This 12 acre park has been the center of town for the Mixville neighborhood and a fixture for the Cheshire community and will

continue in that manner for years to come.
