That bar code essentially works like an online link.

How Do I "Read" A QR Code?
In order to successfully read a qr code your smartphone must have the correct application in order to scan the code and then read it. A simple Google search can help you quickly and easily find an assorment of QR Code reader applications for your phone, many of which are free, some you must pay for, they are all essentially the same thing.
Once you have installed the QR reader application, simply launch the app on your phone and take a picture of the QR Code, the app goes to work reading the image to translate it. Once translated, your smartphone’s browser will open and direct you to the information that you were requesting from the QR Code - its that simple!
