North Cheshire Neighborhoods

North Cheshire Neighborhoods

North Cheshire is made up of many unique neighborhoods with their own character and types of real estate

North Cheshire homes sell for a median real estate price of $349,647, with rental prices on average at $1795. These prices are higher than 76.6% higher than all homes in Connecticut and 79.4% of homes in the United States. This is excellent news for current and prospective homeowners as homes have held their value and increased with the recent real estate market surge.

North Cheshire real estate consists of medium sized (3 and 4 bedroom) and large (4 to 5+ bedroom) single-family homes and some apartment complexes & high-rise apartments. The residential real estate is typically owner occupied. Most North Cheshire homes are older, having been built between 1940 and 1969, with some homes being added and built between 1970-1999.

While not a part of the historic Marion district of Southington, the Marion neighborhood of Cheshire does share some of its history. The Marion Historic District, which is on the US National Register of Historic Places, crosses the border into Cheshire for a small section. The historic area of Marion, Connecticut is best known for the history surrounding French Hill. There is a marker on Marion Avenue marking the event. French general Jean-Baptist Donatien de Vimeur, the comte de Rochambeau and his troops camped on the hill during the American Revolutionary War. They rested at Asa Barnes’ Tavern in June 1781 while on their way to meet with General Washington in Yorktown

The Marion neighborhood of Cheshire extends from the Southington border to Jarvis Street. Marion Avenue, the main road through the neighborhood skirts the edge of a hill/mountain in the west of the neighborhood. The majority of the residences in the neighborhood are on Marion Road and are often historic homes or farms. The northern portion of the neighborhood is home to Cheshire’s Industrial Park.

It is off of Jarvis Street and has easy access to Cheshire Village and Route 10. It is also close to the future parking area on the extension of the Cheshire Linear Trail

Birch is a neighborhood in the North End of Cheshire. It borders I-691 and Southington. It is the only neighborhood in Cheshire that is inaccessible from within town. You must drive through a portion of Southington before reentering Cheshire. Because of this, it has easy access to Southington and has close connection to the commercial areas on the Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike that it abuts. It is a great area for commuters.

East Peck

The neighborhood will be home to a large portion of the extension of the Cheshire Linear Trail. It has easy access to Route 10, I-691, Cheshire Village, and Southington.
