No spring break plans next week? No problem! There is plenty to do right here in Cheshire and in the surrounding area. Whether you want to get away for a quiet weekend with your spouse or have a whole week of family fun, the Cheshire area has something for everyone.

If you’ve been yearning to escape from your daily routine for a couple of days, travel just outside of Cheshire to The Wallingford Victorian Bed and Breakfast. If you’ve never stayed at a bed and breakfast, now is a great time to branch out and stay for a weekend. As a nice change of pace from staying at a hotel, The Victorian offers something different to guests in each and every room. Clean, comfortable beds, free wireless internet and cable are a standard all guests can enjoy, but eclectic furniture and decorations make each room unique. With features like private balconies, whirlpool tubs, fireplaces and turrets, you’ll love the simple charm in all of The Victorian’s guest rooms. Stay in all weekend or venture out to historic Wallingford’s downtown area where you’ll find restaurants and shopping. However you choose to spend your time, you’ll return to your Cheshire home relaxed and rejuvenated.

Good times await you just about five miles northwest of Cheshire in Waterbury. Take the whole family or indulge in your own playful side and check into Coco Key Water Resort.  In addition to standard hotel accommodations like free wireless internet, you’ll have a blast in 50,000 square feet of aquatic fun in the resort’s indoor water park. Kids and adults alike will stay entertained all day in the various water park attractions like a multi-level interactive play island, tube and body slides and an area for water basketball.

Even those who aren’t comfortable in the water will have fun at Coco Key. Key Quest Arcade provides a dry oasis for playing state of the art video games, and a 24 hour snack shop will keep everyone in your party fueled for all the activities. As an added bonus, kids under 10 eat free at Coco Key. Who knew you could escape for spring break only a few minutes from Cheshire?

If you haven’t been to the Barker Character, Comic & Cartoon Museum, this is an option for an inexpensive, daytime activity right here in Cheshire. Here, you’ll find one of the largest collections of character toys and artifacts in the United States. With toys and familiar icons that span the length of 15 decades, you can make this a multi-generation outing and everyone will recognize at least one of their favorite characters from pop culture. At only $5 per adult ticket and $3 per child ticket, a visit to the Barker Character, Comic & Cartoon Museum in Cheshire is in the budget for virtually anyone.

If you’re visiting the area from out of town while you’re looking to relocate to Cheshire, The Wallingford Victorian Bed & Breakfast and Coco Key Water Resort are two different but equally great options for your stay. If you’re a Cheshire resident just looking to get away for a few days or even an afternoon, you have some amazing options just a few minutes from your home.
