One of the best things about living in Cheshire Connecticut and working with Cheshire Real Estate is being able to show newcomers the beauty of living in a small, close-knit town. Cheshire is the kind of town that has long-running local businesses that can't be found anywhere but Cheshire.

A perfect summer day in Cheshire would most definitely
involve a walk to Sweet Claude's Ice Cream Parlor, a 23 year-old, family owned and operated Cheshire business serving the area's best homemade ice cream. Everything here is homemade - from the frozen yogurt and ice cream to the dairy-free tofutti and old-family-recipe hot fudge. Grab a big scoop of the popular toasted almond ice cream or Mississippi Mud and sit back on the big porch of this house-like parlor.
Address: 828 South Main Street (Route 10) in Chesh
ire, CT.

Sweet Claude's is not the only homemade ice cream in town. Big Dipper Ice Cream Factory, located in Prospect, Connecticut, is a favorite hot spot of locals, from little-leaguers to long-time residents. A popular stopping point off of Route 69, Big Dipper was actually once rated the best ice cream parlor in Connecticut by Connecticut Magazine. You will never feel cheated because you are charged by the weight of your ice cream - so you get exactly what you pay for. The staff is known to be extremely friendly and are often long-time staff members that have come back year after year to work for this neighborhood hot spot. Like Sweet Claude's, the Big Dipper is also known for their toasted almond flavor. It might serve you well to do a true taste test, try them both and decide for yourself.
Address: 91 Waterbury Rd, Prospect, CT 06712.

Cheshire loves their ice cream because these two parlors are not the only ones in town. Cheshire is also home to these sweet delights:

Cheshire CT is truly a local-ice-cream-parlor type of town. The people are friendly, the ice cream is often concocted from secret family recipes, and you're bound to find eats and shops that you can't find anywhere else. If you are interested in looking at Cheshire Real Estate, I would love to help you out. I am a long time Cheshire resident and can't imagine not growing up in a town without local businesses and familiar faces.
