As much as I love Summer, there is something exciting about the promise of fall. The fresh air, changing leaves of Cheshire CT foliage, apple and pumpkin picking in and around Cheshire farms, and annual community activities that I have come to look forward to every year. Autumn actually does not officially start until September 22nd. Even though the season is not quite here yet, it's no excuse not to celebrate with a good old fashioned Cheshire Festival and Cheshire Carnival.

Cheshire Fall Festival & Marketplace
Date: Saturday, September 11th
Time: 10 am - 9 pm
Place: Bartlem Park, Route 10 (across from Cheshire High School)

Admission is free to this annual Cheshire festival hosted by the Cheshire Chamber of Commerce. Roam the park and mingle with Cheshire business vendors - including Sally Bowman Real Estate!

Moms will enjoy the craft show, kids will go crazy for the YMCA Kids-zone, and husbands can ogle the classic car show and Road Race. Fuel up at the food court, but not too much because you don't want to make yourself sick for the rides at the Kiwanis carnival (which runs from September 9th-12th). End the night dancing amongst the bands performing on the two entertainment stages, and finally, sitting back in awe at the fireworks show.

There will be a special appearance by jazz band Eight to the Bar at 5:00 pm. This band has been consistently rated as one of Connecticut's best, voted by major publications to be the Best Band, Best Jazz Band, Best Old School R&B/Swing Band, Best Vocal Group, Best Dance Band, and most recently Best Live Band 2010. You can't argue with all that.

This festival will be a night to remember - the perfect way to end the summer and kick off the fall season. We would love it if you stopped by our booth and said hello. We are all about introducing newcomers to Cheshire, as well as catching up with old friends.
